D-A-D’s “Greatest Hits 1984-2024” – a thunderous ode to rock

It is amazing how time flies. Danish dynamite rockers D-A-D- are celebrating their 40th anniversary and will release an album containing all the highlights of their long career in rock’n’roll.

“Greatest Hits 1984-2014” is a compilation of 22 songs that reflect the different stages of D-A-D. Since my introduction to the Danish rockers was the stellar “No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims,” it’s songs like “Sleeping My Day Away” and “Point of View” that bring back the spirit of youth. These timeless rockers sound as good today as they did back in 1989. Also taken from their third album is “Jihad”, which comes as a live version, which adds to the power of the song.

Without a doubt, the guys also go back to their debut and it is a live version of “It’s After Dark”, recorded at KB Hallen, representing the start of fopur years of D-A-D. The newer era is represented too with “I Want What She’s Got”, a pounding rock song that shows the development of the band yet without losing the connection to their roots. “Burning Star” is the newest track on this compilation, taken from the band’s latest offering “A Prayer For the Loud”.

“Greatest Hits 1984-2024” is an album that features very little in the way of new material, and instead offers 22 superbly crafted and timeless rock songs that will give you a great time every single listen. This release is a thunderous ode to rock music.
