Review SOCIAL DISORDER ‘Time to Rise’

If you look at the album cover of ‘Time to Rise’, you might expect a different musical direction than what this album offers. Yet everything captured on this album is of consistently good quality.

The winged fighter on the cover could also represent a power metal album or something similar, while the band name would also suit a hardcore band. Nevertheless, ‘Time to Rise’ is a great hard rock / melodic metal album that delivers.

Social Disorder is actually more of a project than a band. Initiated by Anders La Rönnblom (X-Romance), a debut album was created in 2021 which included Tracii Guns (LA GUNS), Leif Ehlin (PERFECT PLAN), Shawn Duncan (LA GUNS), David Stone (RAINBOW), Thomas Nordin and Rudy Sarzo (WHITESNAKE, OZZY etc.).

After the successful first album, Rönnblom started writing new songs and thus took the first step towards ‘Time to Rise’. In comparison to the first album, everyone involved was more engaged in the creative process this time and the result is a very accomplished album. Each of the eleven tracks is a feast for the ears, with the band embracing the entire spectrum of melodic rock/metal. There’s the anthemic ‘Free Your Spirit’, the throbbing title track and the romantic ‘Dancing in the Rain’. Each of these songs is well executed and immediately captures your attention. It is the passion and creative freedom that is the driving force behind this album. As on the debut album, these eleven songs don’t leave you unimpressed and the use of an almost doomy riff at the end with ‘See What You Believe’ shows the diversity that ‘Time to Rise’ offers.
