What Feine Sahne Fischfilet were lacking after six studio albums was a live record. The punk rockers from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have been among the trailblazers of contemporary German punk/ska for many years and have succeeded in continuously increasing their popularity.
The last studio album ‘Alles glänzt’ made it to 3rd place in the German longplayer charts and the shows are also getting bigger. For example, Feine Sahne Fischfilet played at the Parkbühne Wuhlheide in Berlin and their performance at this year’s Open Air at the Grossmarkt in Hamburg was a great moment for fans and band alike.
In addition to outstanding music, Feine Sahne Fischfilet are also known for their straightforward attitude and plain talking.
With ‘Alles glänzt – Alles live’, the ska punk rockers’ first live album is now available in record stores and delivers an authentic live atmosphere, as best as possible. The album provides a journey through the various phases of the band since 2012, with a focus on the latest album. That’s why the album opens with ‘Kiddies im Block’ before presenting with ‘Alles im Rausch’ a song from the previous album.
It goes without saying that the ‘Scheitern & Verstehen’ album is also represented by songs such as the unique ‘Geschichten aus Jarmen’ and the closing ‘Komplett am Arsch’, while ‘Komm mit auf’s Boot’ with its ska hooks creates enthusiasm and guides the listener to the present.
Feine Sahne Fischfilet bring together different groups of fans to have a good time and at the same time the guys make you think. The band’s popularity is built on their attitude, empathy and non-conformity. This is exactly what is often lacking these days.
‘Alles glänzt – Alles live’ is a very well-made live record that has an authentic feel to it, while the sound is excellent and nicely balanced. However, the band’s shows remain unreached and maybe the record is an appetizer for visiting one or the other upcoming show of the band.
