A young band, that might not exactly fit into the context of MHMB releases with ‘Müde’ a new album today. The band is called Leftovers and they are hailing from Vienna, Austria. With lyrics kept in German, the guys have their roots in alternative rock, punk and noise rock.
What makes ‘Müde’ to an interesting longplayer is that the album is fueled by authenticity and the raging vibe of the youth.
Constant overextension, panik attacks and toxic relationships, these are the topics of the band and ‘Müde’ is the outlet for all these nerve-wrecking topics.
The entire range of their music is apparent in the middle section, when the band offers with ‘Ohne Dich’ a very soulful and melancholic moment before turning the page to ‘Fick Dich’. The latter is an angry post-punk song that acts as a counterpart to ‘Ohne Dich’. And that there is a bit of Nirvana that found its way into ‘Es Tut Weh’ isn’t a bad reference.
‘Müde’ isn’t album for the leather and denim fraction. But if you are willing to explore the rebellious spirit of the rebellious youth, Leftovers might have an interesting offer for you.
Release date is November 3rd, 2023 and the album comes via Phat Penguin Records.
