W.A.S.P. and ‘The 7 Savage: 1984-1992‘

W.A.S.P. is one of the great metal bands of the 80’s and the first song I heard was ‘I Wanna be Somebody’. The song was taken from the band’s debut album and what followed ‘W.A.S.P.’ were a series of classics that have lost none of their sparkle.

Highlights in the band’s history, besides the debut, are certainly the superb ‘The Hedless Children’ album and it is the subsequent ‘The Crimson Idol’ release that represented an unprecedented peak in the career of Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P..

Under the title ‘The 7 Savage: 1984-1992’ the band release a limited box set of the Capitol albums. Each of the longplayers underwent half-speed mastering and, in addition, there is a 60-page booklet as well as an LP with bonus tracks and B-sides.

W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless comments, “It’s great to see this collection of records be re-released with this detail. For the original recordings to have a new light shown on them with expanded notes and additional photography is special for me, and will be for all those that hold these albums in a special place in their hearts and times in their lives.”

The box set is limited to 2000 copies and will be released on October 27 via Madfish.
