Review BRUJERIA ‚Est Es Brujeria‘

From the moment Brujeria started back in 1989, there was a kind of mytserious hype about band. Much has to do with the fact that the band includes a lot of band members, well-known from other bands which makes Brujeria more to a collective than a band.

With ‚Eso Es Brujeria‘ the next strike from the ‚music cartel‘ is on its way and as the previous releases also the new album provides this mix of grindcore and metal the band is known for. It is just their fifth album which follows ‚Pocho Aztlan‘ from 2016.

Since everybody uses aliases, it is not easy to say exactly who‘s in the band right now but we can assume that guys like Shane Embury, Jeff  Walker and Adrian Erlandsson are still part of this crunching band.

The album features a total of 16 songs of which ‚COVID-666‘ has a bit of a history as the track has been released already in 2020 as a single. The grooving track works live very well it‘s impossible to stand still.

furthermore Brujeria have the racing songs in their offer, like ‚Bruja Encebronada‘ but also count on massive grooves. ‚Tu Vida Loca‘ has some of these grooving moments while ‚Politicamente Correctos‘ combines both – fury and groove.

Things get slow and evil with ‚Perdido En El Espacio‘ and we can state that within the musical framework Brujeria shows an excellent level of versatility which includes the Mexican trumpets as part of the opener.

‚Esto Es Brujeria‘ will be certainly appreciated by the fanbase of the mysterious Mexican collective. The guys behind Brujeria obviously enjoy what they are doing and the creative freedom that comes with this collective. This album is fun to listen to and go wild. Not more and not less.
