Review DYING FETUS ‘Make Them Beg For Death’

Brute death metal from Maryland, that means Dying Fetus. Since 1991 the guys make fans happy with their extreme metal, massive riffs, blastbeats and evil growls. Also in terms of content, the band does not exactly stand for blooming meadows of flowers. Album titles like ‘Wrong One to Fuck With’ speak a clear language. It is more the musical accompaniment to a splatter movie than filigree gourmet treats.

It took the trio six years to hammer in ‘Make Them Beg for’Death’, their ninth album by now, and it is just as merciless as its predecessors. Songs like ‘Compulsion For Cruelty’ reflect the trademarks of Dying Fetus very well. No Houdini riffs are slammed into the crowd on this one. Rather, it is a massive riff onslaught that is presented to the listener and it takes a while to process it. You have to get into the songs before they show their potential. This is especially the case with the ultra-fast and condensed ‘Throw Them in the Van’.

Exciting, however, is the nasty grooving ‘Unbridled Fury’ where you really get shivers. Dying Fetus leave no stone on the other. This albums is a musical wrecking ball that we couldn’t and wouldn’t expect any way different.

Dying Fetus show with their latest musical onslaught that they haven’t lost any of their sweeping power. With the ruthlessness of a chainsaw, the guys grind their way through songs like ‘Undulating Carnage’. Despite all the musical recklessness, the grooving element doesn’t suffer. This is more than evident on the all-crushing ‘Undulating Carange’.

‘Make The Beg for Death’ is a morbid splatter death metal album. John Gallagher vomits out lyrics and together with throbbing riffs each of the songs is a spine-tingling death metal massacre. This album delivers to the point what fans expect.
