Review STITCHED UP HEART ‘ To the Wolves’

The story of Stitched Up Heart began in 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Alecia Demner was the initiator of the band and she continues to be the driving force of the group. Touring with bands like Halestorm, In This Moment and Godsmack provided access to a larger audience and last but not least it was Godsmack’s Sully Erna who contributed with some vocals to ‘Lost’ from the ‘Darkness’ album.

With ‘To the Wolves’ Stitched This Up have their third album on the way and we will see where the journey goes. Especially the first singles of the band were quite successful and went into the US mainstream rock charts. Whether the songs of the new album can continue the streak, remains to be seen. However, it is fair to say that Stitched Up Heart know how to write catchy modern metal songs.

The band doesn’t win the Innovations Award with their sound, but the album still knows how to entertain. This is mainly due to the thundering guitars, the skillfully used vocal lines and a rhythm section that works very hard.

‘To the Wolves’ builds on groove and this bursts out in songs like ‘Thunder’ or the crashing ‘The Architect’.

For long stretches it is calmer during ‘Dead Inside’, before a catchy chorus again unleashes its full power while ‘Possess Me’ is more complex and does not want to reveal all its fascination.

Stitched Mp Heart deliver with ‘To the Wolves’ a powerful third album, with which the band can certainly continue to compete. Even if the competition in this genre is mighty, Stitched Up Heart have enough firepower to play in the big league.
