Amorphis guitarist Tomi Koivusaari announces his solo project called Bjørkø (which means ‘Birch Island’) and the debut album ‘Heartrot’ is in the making. The lead single is released already and listens to the name of ‘The Heartroot Rots’. No less than Carcass frontman Jeff Walker contributed to the song, taking over the vocals, which also makes it to the heaviest one on the album.
Next to the band leader, the line-up of Bjørkø also includes Waltteri Väyrynen (Opeth, ex-Paradise Lost), Lauri Porra (Stratovarius), and Janne Lounatvuori (Hidria Spacefolk).
By the way, release date of the album is scheduled for December this year.
