‘Rivers of Heresy’ might be one of the most thrilling debuts in 2023. It is the first full-length album by Empire State Bastard and the ones of you who made it to Wacken 2023 might have witness the first show of the band on German soil.
Two singles, ‘Harvest’ and ‘Stutter’ have been released already and with ‘The Looming’ single number three recently saw the light of day.
Empire State Bastard, that is a band that features interesting band members. Biffy Clyro is an alternative rock outfit that celebrates big success since many years. To have an outlet for their passion for metal, Simon Neil and Mike Vennart started with Empire State Bastard a project, that also includes no less than drum legend Dave Lombardo and Naomi Macloed in the live line-up.
The music of this project is a wild and frantic ride. It’s a blend of thrash metal, the sound of Melvins and the unpredictability of Mike Patton. Empire State Bastard bring together these influences in ten songs and the tracklist looks like this:
