Review ENUFF Z’NUFF ‘Finer Than Sin’

Chip Z’Nuff and his bandmates are releasing a new album called ‘Finer Than Sin’. The band, which celebrated its first successes in the golden era of sleaze rock, had never stopped releasing more or less good albums. While other hyped bands of the time have fallen into troubled waters or ceased to exist, bandleader Enuff Z’Nuff has battled through all the storms of the music industry.

‘Finer Than Sin’ proves that the band is still capable of delivering good to very good rock songs. Just listen to the catchy and yet not trivial ‘Hurricane’. The song unfolds its flair right from the first time you hear it and is a highlight on the album. Also the sleazy ‘Catastrophe’ knows how to please while the rocking ‘Temporarily Disconnected’ with its stomping rhythm makes the hearts of rock fans beat faster.

The fact that the band has with ‘God Save the Queen’ a Sex Pistols cover version on the album is not a burden. Enuff Z’Nuff manage to keep the anarchic approach of the original to some extent, not without giving the song a sleaze rock touch.

‘Finer Than Sin’ is certainly worth a sin. Enuff Z’Nuff prove once again that they live rock’n’roll and the music is at least as important as gimmicks and show. ‘Finer Than Sin’, this is well made and entertaining rock that brings momentum to the sometimes monotonous or frustrating everyday life.
