Review KRYPTOS ‘Force of Danger’

India’s metal export number one, Kryptos, are back with a new longplayer. ‘Force of Danger’ is the name of the sixth album of the four metal enthusiasts from Bangalore. Kryptos has established an unbelievable career and could leave the exotic status behind. The guys became a constant force in heavy metal.

The debut ‘Spiral Ascent’ was the starting point for an ever-growing popularity, which brought the quartet a record deal with AFM Records. They were also the first Indian band to play a full show at the legendary Wacken Open Air, all steps that were surely dreams in the beginning. But sometimes fantasy becomes reality.

That Kryptos are dedicated to traditional metal is more than apparent on their new record and songs like ‘Thunderchild’ know how to impress. The roots of rock’n’roll come more to the surface on ‘Omega Point’, while ‘Hot Wired’ is the uncompromising metal blast. In these three minutes everything unnecessary is renounced and the unbridled power of heavy metal rules.

Kryptos deliver with ‘Force of Danger’ a more than solid album. What leaves the Indian metal forge has everything it needs. The hammer and anvil are still trusted in this case. Polished and smoothed is not what is presented here, which means that the whole record still has enough of the needed rough edges. With 36 minutes, the album certainly has no excessive running time, but who needs that if the quality speaks for itself.
