CD review SIGGI SCHWARZ ‘The Fire Inside’

The name Siggi Schwarz is most probably not known to the broader public, but experts of refined guitar music should have heard the name at least once. The musician, who is based in Heidenheim an der Brenz, already has a significant number of solo releases to his credit. In addition, Schwarz also works with greats such as Michael Schenker, Steve Lukather, Bennie Marsden and other international artists plus that he released a tribute album for Gary Moore (RIP) in 2011.

We can say that Schwarz’s heart is on fire for rock, and the new album ‘The Fire Inside’ ignites this long-term love once more. A total of 14 songs have found a spot on the longplayer, songs that live by Schwarz’s guitar performance with singer Dave Schaefer adding some extra soul. The two have worked together on ‘The Fire Inside’ and the result is something to be proud of.

Beyond trends and hypes, the two, together with Benni Jud and Bene Neuner, deliver a rock album that can persuade with songs like the galloping ‘B-Boogie’. Siggi Schwarz is at his best when he rocks straight out of the gate, as he does on ‘Give It to Me’. There are also a few twisted tunes like ‘Badass’ but in general we can conclude that there are hardly any ‘swing and a miss’ moments.

‘The Fire Inside’ is a record that can be recommended to fans who dig well done, authentic and solid hard rock without a false bottom.
