Milford, Massachusetts is the homebase of a trio that debuted in 2019 with an album called ‘The Grand Descent’ – Fuming Mouth. The guys started their metal adventure in 2013 and after a couple of demos and singles, it was Triple-B Records that released the band’s first album.
The record and the positive reception created attention, also at the Nuclear Blast headquater. Fuming Mouth and the German metal label inked a deal that leads to a first release called ‘Beyond the Tomb’. It’s a three track EP that will help the band to enlarge their fanbase.
‘Beyond the Tomb’ starts with the title track and after a short intro the songs represents raw, spirited death metal. Not afraid of reducing speed, the middle part comes in a moderate pace and leads to a furious guitar solo. What’s really cool with this massive track is the variations that are embedded.
‘Master of Extremity’ shows a more brute approach with growls being deeper and sinister. The slow riff assaults are again a treat and threatening in one. If you think that ‘Road to Odessa’ will provide a smoother ride I have to disappoint. Crushing death metal is what you get while riding on the ‘Road to Odessa’, a highway maybe not to hell but for sure not a paved road either.
Fuming Mouth provide with ‘Beyond the Tomb’ a merciless interpretation of death metal, made for headbangers with strong neck-muscles.
