CD review THOSE DAMN CROWS ‘Point of No Return’

There is good news for Alter Bridge fans that can’t wait until the band’s next release. Those Damn Crows can easily fill the gap with their second longplayer.

The band from Wales doesn’t leave a doubt of where their main inspiration comes from. Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy and Co. are for sure no strangers for the quintet.

‘Point of No Return’ is the sophomore album of the five guys from Wales and follows the debut, entitled ‘Murder and The Motive’. What you can expect of this longplayer is solidly done Alternative Rock, produced in a good way. Maybe a few extra edges would have been good, but it’s a powerful sound, which gives the album a strong groove.

The tunes on this longplayer aren’t bad either. The only things is, that if I want to listen to Alter Bridge I go for an Alter Bridge album. Those Damn Crows stick just too closely to their main source of inspiration. It doesn’t take away the attractiveness of the 13 songs though. What’s missing is the own identity. Good music with a bit of an aftertaste.
