Hammership, that is heavy metal on the sea. It is a five day trip that starts and ends in Athens in August 2022. While cruising through the Mediterranean Sea, a cool line-up of metal bands is ready to provide powerful riff-based sounds. Headbanging under the blue Mediterranean sky. That is how the line-up looks like... Continue Reading →
Paradise Lost is a well-sounding name when it comes to dark gothic metal. The band went through different phases. The quintet has excellent longplayers in their discography. The latest records as well as the ‘Icon’ and ‘Draconian Times’ are timeless releases that helped to define a whole genre. There are two longplayers that paved the... Continue Reading →
I don't think I need to introduce Exodus at length, because the band from the Bay Area is one of the innovators of thrash metal. The legendary 'Bonded By Blood' debut was the beginning and what followed was a progress the guys probably didn't even dream of at the time. In the meantime we have... Continue Reading →
If the legendary Deep Purple record an album with cover versions, it’s not a crime, but more an homage to the roots of rock’n’roll. With some cover albums one could get the idea of a band lacking own creativity or having some other reasons for pushing such an album to the market. I think we... Continue Reading →
‘The Everlasting Plague’, an album title that fits so perfectly when thinking about these crazy pandemic times. That was also the thinking of Pathology when working on their eleventh album. Inspired by a song title from their 2012 album ‘The Time of Great Purification’, the band transferred the idea into the here and now. Pathology’s... Continue Reading →

The pandemic and the connected measures have clearly shown the importance of live music. In moments when something that seems to be a given is gone, one values it much more than in times of opulence. But this time also unveiled creative moments for music, although in a different format. German TV station WDR had... Continue Reading →
It takes some courage to cover The Beatles songs. The musical quality of the legendary quartet is unquestionable, considering for example the still not completely deciphered first chord of 'A Hard Days Night'. That Enuff Z'Nuff's co-founder Chip Z'Nuff has a special passion for the four guys from Liverpool is something that is well reflected... Continue Reading →
This time we leave the paths of heavy metal a bit and turn more to (Southern-)rock music. Jason Aldean from Macon, Georgia feels at home in country music and started his career with a self-titled debut album in 2005. If you look at the awards and sales statistics, you can see that Aldean has done... Continue Reading →
