Rock legends Jethro Tull released a Christmas album in 2003. The longplayer is called “The Jethro Tull Christmas Album” and contains 16 songs.
21 years later, Ian Anderson is releasing a version of this album. “The Jethro Tull Christmas Album – Fresh Snow At Christmas” includes the original album mixes as well as remixes by none other than Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief). The release is scheduled for December 6th, 2024 and will come through InsideOutMusic.
The album will also be available on vinyl for the first time.
The track list includes highlights like “A Christmas Song” from 1969 as well as interpretations of compositions such as J.S. Bach’s “Bourée” and Gabriel Fauré’s “Pavane”. The songs on the album are not all necessarily related to Christmas. Rather, they are a reflection of the season, which gives the album a slightly broader range of possibilities.
“The Jethro Tull Christmas Album – Fresh Snow At Christmas” is an album that reflects the Celtic influences as well as featuring Ian Anderson’s signature flute. It is a great alternative for the holiday season when songs like “Last Christmas” and “Driving Home for Christmas” will cause eye-rolling when played on an endless loop.
