‘Before the Morning Comes’ is the new single that’s been launched prior to the release of the Lucassen & Soeterboek’s Plan Nine album ‘The Long-Lost Songs’.
The album is special, as the roots go back to the 90s when Lucassen worked in several projects. When he met Robert Soeterbroek during a live show of Bodine, a band both shared a common history, some magic started to unfold in a way, that both musicians connected and started to write music.
Songs were written quickly but the ongoing grunge hype made it tough for the guys to find a brave label, releasing their music.
Time leap to 2022. More than twenty years after the first ideas for a Plan Nine album have been generated, things became shape and form again with the two main protagonists reconnecting to finish some loose ends from the 90s.
‘The Long-Lost Songs’ is the result of this cooperation that features Arjen Lucassen and Robert Soeterbroek. Supported by icons of the Dutch rock scene, like Koen Herfst (d) and Epica’s Rob van der Loo (b) the album is a 70s and 80s rock driven release that also features guitarist Marcel Singor and Irene Jansen, delivering some background vocals. The first song, done by this collective has been launched already and as mentioned is entitled ‘Before the Morning Comes’. It is a blues-driven rock ballad that shows the passionate commitment of musicians that all heading the same direction.
Release date of the entire album will be May 17th, 2024 and ‘The Long-Lost Songs’ will come via Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label group.
