DVD review SEPTICFLESH ‘Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX’

'Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX' is a release fans of Septicflesh will appreciate and if you are lacking a certain vibe of live shows, it might be a bit of a cure too. And last but not least, it's the enthusiastic Mexican Metal audience that shows why nothing can compensate for not existing live shows.

CD review ZOMBI ‘2020’

...you should give this album a chance. It's music that is far away from harsh riffs, aggressive rhythms and loud vocal screams. '2020' is a mindfully crafted musical adventure that blossoms by closing the eyes. It takes you to a world outside reality, at least for 39 minutes, and then there's still a 'Repeat'-button.

CD review PRIMAL FEAR ‘Metal Commando’

This ’metal commando’ is not intended to take prisoners. This album, with its 11 Metal bullets, hit bulls eye constantly and if you have been a fan of Primal Fear’s dynamic and powerful Metal in the past, the new album will be appreciated. Furious guitars and a strong groove, combined with a great sense for melodies makes this record to a delight for headbangers. Horns up.

CD review IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT ‘Alphaville’

Imperial Triumphant certainly leave nothing to coincidence. There are sound enthusiasts at work who are highly committed to their musical vision with no compromises. 'Alphaville' with its ecstasy is certainly interesting for a smaller group of metalheads. The majority, however, will listen with open eyes and dropping jaws to the sound this album brings to the fore. Are you willing to take the challenge?

CD review ONSLAUGHT ‘Generation Antichrist’

'Generation Antichrist' is hard and heavy, in the best meaning of these words. Furious Thrash Metal from the UK is the result of willpower, passion and dedication, all manifested in eight songs and an intro. Nige Rockett and his bandmates deliver a very strong Thrash Metal album that might be even the best the quintet brought to plate so far. Onslaught challenges the Bay Area with 'Generation Antichrist'.

New IHSAHN EP in September

Shapeshifting progressive metal pioneer Ihsahn will release 'Pharos', the second of two contrasting-yet-intertwined EPs, on September 11th 2020 via Candlelight Records. The light to Telemark’s dark, 'Pharos' features three original compositions and two covers; a delicate but true-to-the-original version of ‘Manhattan Skyline’ by Norway’s own pop progenitors A-HA (featuring Leprous frontman Einar Solberg on vocal... CD review DUN RINGILL ‘Library of Death’

Sweden and Doom Metal, that's a combination that works very well, thinking of genre legends like Candlemass, Count Raven and others. Another Doom Metal powerhouse hailing from the North is Dun Ringill. Although the name refers to an Iron Age hill fort, the band has Swedish roots, with some of the musicians being also part... CD review OSYRON ‘Foundations’ – EP

Hailing from Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Osyron added a next record to their musical offer. After having premiered in 2103 with 'Harbinger', the guys released with 'Kingsbane' their sophomore album in 2017. Three years later, a new EP will see the light of days. 'Foundation' is the title of a release that features 5 songs. For the... Continue Reading →

CD review ZARRAZA ‘Rotten Remains’

Without offending anyone, I think most people know Kazakhstan from international football matches. However, metalheads should not only see Kazakhstan as a deliverer of scoring points for World Cup- and European Championship qualifications (the team plays actually quite well). There is also a Heavy Metal scene in Kazakhstan, but releases rarely find their way to... Continue Reading →

CD review DEEP PURPLE ‘Whoosh!’

Introducing Deep Purple is like carrying sand to the beach. Therefor let's skip any introduction and laser in right away on the new longplayer, released by the Classic Rock legends. Three years after 'InFinite' saw the light of day, it is the new longplayer 'Whoosh!' that marks a next cornerstone in Deep Purple's impressive success... Continue Reading →
