Wheel pt.2 - in a way. Important is not to mix up Wheel from Germany with the Finnish prog metal band, sharing the same moniker. In this review we are talking about the quartet, hailing from Dortmund, Germany and instead of progressive metal sounds it's more the slo-mo doom riffs that break ground on 'Preserved... CD review IOTUNN ‘Access All Worlds’
Maybe some of you are already familiar with Iotunn, as it was in 2016 when the guys released their first EP 'The Wizard Falls'. The release was self-produced and it was a springboard for the band. Metal Blade Records took notice of the quintet from Denmark and after agreeing on a contract nothing stood in... Continue Reading →
CD review ETERNAL CHAMPION ‘Ravening Iron’
No Remorse Records shows again their good sense for stellar heavy metal bands. Eternal Champion inked a deal with the label a few years ago, with a first split album, having been released in 2015. The debut ‘The Armor of Ire’ followed a year later and now the time is right for bringing some more... Continue Reading →

CD review PALE DIVINE ‘Consequence of Time’
25 years in business, that says something about a band and their musical qualities. Pale Divine, hailing from Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, is such a band. Founded in 1995 it took the guys six years to get the debut 'Thunder Perfect Mind' out into the record shops. Having managed the start, was like a springboard for... Continue Reading →

CD review STYGIAN CROWN ‘Stygian Crown’
'Stygian Crown' is a strong debut album, a longplayer that is a statement. These guys came to stay. Modern epic doom metal has to sound exactly like the quintet celebrates it for almost an hour on this album. Very strong.

Mike Lepond and his enthusiastic band mates show once again how well done and powerful heavy metal should sound. Without losing the basic structures, LePond gives this album so many twists and turns that you want to press the start button again.
CD review SORCERER ‘Lamenting Of The Innocent’
That Swedes can compose and play doom metal is nothing new. After all, it was Candlemass who released with 'Nightfall' a reference album which is still the benchmark for every doom metal band today. Piece by piece it is now their Swedish compatriots from Sorcerer who are getting closer to this milestone album. Sorcerer is... Continue Reading →
CD review CIRITH UNGOL ‘Forever Black’
Cirith Ungol's return ends after glorious 40 minutes with the last tones of 'Forever Black', the title track. I was lucky that I could witness the Cirith Ungol's live show at Rock Hard festival in 2018 and at the time I couldn't imagine, holding a new record in hands. But sometimes dreams turn into reality. Fans of the band and Epic Metal in general will love this album and I can highly recommend it. The underground pioneers and inventors of Epic Metal are back, hopefully for many more years.

Today we continue with Plattenkiste and Christian Kind, describing the situation there.
