CD review INGLORIOUS ‘Ride to Nowhere’

(8/10) UK rockers Inglorious had to face some rough times. There was a lot of movement when it comes to the line-up of the Hard Rock powerhouse. Band leader Nathan James had to renew the band after Colin Parkinson, Andreas Eriksson and Drew Lowe left in autumn 2018, after recording Inglorious’ third album.

The work performance record of the former line-up became a good one though. ‘Ride to Nowhere’ is a well-crafted Hard Rock album, featuring eleven songs.

The power of Inglorious sits in the melodies which they embed in harder rocking tunes. The band’s third longplayer doesn’t need a lot of spins on your ecord player. The songs unfold their beauty right away. The opener ‘Where Are You Now’ with it’s bluesy groove, the Whitesnake-inspired ‘Tomorrow’ and the energetic title track are excellent rock songs. Another highlight on the album is the closer ‘Glory Days’. Actually it’s the best song on the album and it’s a calmer one. This tune offers so much emotional depth with James’ voice being the centerpiece. Accompanied by a gently acoustic guitar sound that track is a great closer of a really good Hard Rock record.

Classic Rock magazine once described the band as ‘the Future of British Rock” and ‘Ride to Nowhere’ proves the validity of this statement.
