German metal pioneers Grave Digger is one of the German metal bands being in the business the longest. Chris Boltendahl and his crew recently released with ‘The Living Dead’ their 19th studio album. The quartet embarked on a tour through Europe to promote the latest record and one stop was in Rotterdam.
On a cold Sunday night Grave Digger played a rock solid metal show at Baroeg, Rotterdam and ignited a true metal vibe. This four-piece band knows how to rock and has metal in their veins, a fact that became very obvious in Rotterdam.
The band shared the stage with Swiss metal ladies Burning Witches. The quintet released two brilliant records until now and the live show confirmed the very positive impression. In 50 minutes the quintet clarified in an impressive fashion that metal isn’t solely a men’s world. Burning Witches was the perfect opener that ignited a metal firework and I guess we will hear much more of this band over the coming years. Burning Witches came to stay.
