METALLICA brings ‘S&M’ back on stage (and cinemas)

It was in 1999 when Thrash Metal veterans Metallica took a next step out of their comfort zone with a project entitled ‘S&M’. This project wasn’t the first one ever with a Rock band teaming up with classic orchestra but it was the first time that Metallica as a Thrash Metal band took this brave step.

Legendary Michael Kamen re-arranged Metallica hits for this special concert/release and it’s 20 years later that a next version of this milestone moment will take place. On September 6th and 8th, Metallica will play at Chase Center in San Francisco together with San Francisco Symphony. The show on the 6th will be filmed and will come to cinemas as a concert film on October 9th this year.

It will be the songs from 20 years ago that will be performed in their original arrangement from two decades ago plus it will be some songs released later than 1999 that will be added to the setlist. These songs are arranged by Bruce Coughlin and it will be Michael Tilson Thomas conducting parts of the show.
