On September 21st and 22nd, the cult venue in northern Germany, the Markthalle in Hamburg, was again the location for the 7th Hamburg Metal Dayz.
Battle vests and band shirts, music experts, entertainment industry people, metal lovers and happy faces: Those were the impressions at the hardest event during this year’s Reeperbahn Festival.
“We’re again amazed by the positive energy that we have at the Metal Dayz each year”, said Holger Hübner and Thomas Jensen of ICS Festival Service GmbH. “The dialogue with the fans and guests gives us suggestions and ideas for the Wacken Open Air and our other events and while we celebrate together, a feeling of unity is created in a very natural way between fans, artists and industry people. This is what’s so important for the metal scene and what can rarely be found as concentrated at one event as it is happening here. We are proud and happy that the Hamburg Metal Dayz are an integral part of the Reeperbahn Festival and that the event is now the meeting point for all metal heads, no matter if you’re a fan or if you stop by for job-related reasons.”
Live on stage at this metal family meeting at Reeperbahn Festival were acts like Beyond The Black, Battle Beast, Audrey Horne, Jesper Binzer, Ondt Blod, Sibir, The Hirsch Effekt, Warpath, Rezet, Fight The Fight, Bonfire and Syndemic. On Saturday, Skindred made a fabulous finale with their unique mixture of metal and reggae.
At the meet & greets fans were able to meet their heroes, take photos and get autographs. Metal yoga was good for body and soul. All guests had the opportunity to talk or listen to Holger Hübner and Thomas Jensen at their annual Q&A session or to get tips from shout coach Thomas Fischer to heal and improve stressed vocal chords. Jeremy Leeor and Dan Potter of Creative Works spoke about their multi-disciplinary branding and content creation studio and their collaborations with Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith. With their unique Make It Live® process they bring concerts to life.
Need a new tattoo or an art print for your home? Or simply hang out, watch bands and have fun together – the Hamburg Metal Dayz satisfy every metal head’s need.
