DVD/CD review ‘Live at WACKEN 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell’

(*/10) To warm-up for the 2018 edition of the legendary Wacken festival Silver Lining Music launches a DVD/CD package entitled ‘Live at Wacken 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell’. The comprehensive DVD version features 45 songs of the 2017 Wacken festival, mixed by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Megadeth, NOFX) and mastered by Andrew Alekej (Motörhead, Clutch). It was the Wacken ICS team that did all the filming, directed by Kai Swillus who drew attention to detail.

This release features the wide spectrum of metal and rock that’s one of the fundamental success factors of the legendary festival in the Northern parts of Germany. From rock to metal to metalcore the package is a very well-done retrospective that includes a true highlight at the end. 60,000 Wacken-heads sung ‘Heroes’ as tribute to rock veteran Lemmy Kilmister who’s missed a lot.

‘Live at Wacken 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell’ is an excellent summary of Wacken 2017 and the CD, that’s available too, could act as the prefect soundtrack for your trip to the 2018 metal feast.
