After several years of planning, Motörhead and BMG are pleased to announce the launch of an exciting, extensive and detailed ultra-fan-friendly release program that will feature the band’s career in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 80’s and 90’s and beyond!
The start will be the “Motörhead ’79” campaign and the 40th anniversary will start with the two incredible releases of ‘Overkill’ and ‘Bomber’. New deluxe editions come as hardcover bookpacks with 2 CDs and triple vinyl with previously unreleased concerts, interviews and many unknown photos from the ’79 tours. The `79 campaign captivates with a spectacular “Must Have”, the ‘1979’ box set. All three formats were approved with the full support and voice of the executors of Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, “Fast” Eddie Clarke and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor.
The “1979” box set:
- The two original ‘Overkill’ and ‘Bomber’ albums were half-speed mastered and pressed to 180 grams of vinyl, from the original master tapes.
- Two double live albums of previously unreleased concert material from the 1979 tours.
- A 40 page contemporary “music magazine” with unpublished photos and new interviews related to this era.
- ’79 Vinyl, with B-Sides, Outtakes and rare Tracks
- “No Class 7” single with gatefold cover
- The “Bomber” tour program
- ‘Overkill’ book of music
- ’79 Badge Set
- All in a black box in biker jacket style
