Grindcore pioneers Napalm Death embarked on a tour through Europe and the Baroeg in Rotterdam was one stop on this roadtrip. Although the Dutch football team played a few hundred meter away the Baroeg was sold-out and everything was well-prepared for a energetic night of grindcore and death metal.
Newcomer Teethgrinder opened with their mix of grind, death and crust, a show that ended with some well-deserved applause. Next on stage was another Dutch metal outfit. Disavowed and their brutal death metal had to suffer of some sound issues during their 45 minutes show, but the fact that the room was already well filled showed the solid fanbase of the five-piece band
Finally it was time for Napalm Death and the Baroeg turned into a madhouse right away. Massive riff, brutal shouts, stage divers and restless pit, that’s what challenged the statics of the Baroeg building. Napalm Death was a sonic wrecking ball that night, a blast that found an end after 60 minutes, with fans that exactly got for what they came for.
